Kenny Piraro has been involved in the sport of racing for over 40 years. KPR is located in San Jose, California, and serves racers across the entire United States. Kenny and his wife, Mary – who also has decades of experience in the industry – have built a business based on their love and passion for the sport. Customer service is their number one priority.
Our History...
We have both been involved in racing for over 40 years. Kenny began his racing career at the age of six in BMX bicycles, followed by go karts, micros, mini sprints and back to micros full time in 1992. Mary grew up around racing and it’s been a part of her life since she was a young girl.
Kenny's early days of racing
If there’s one thing most don’t know about us, is the history we both have in the sport. What’s even more interesting to people is the fact that Mary has been involved in micros longer than Kenny; dating back to the old Lemoore Jet Bowl days. “Our love and passion for racing is indescribable and means more to us than most can even understand”.
As for us as a couple...well, it’s no doubt we met through racing (thanks to Kenny’s brother Mark and Mary’s good friend Suzy)! We’ve been together since 1992 and are proud of each and every single thing we’ve been through and accomplished together; both on and off the track. Although we don’t have any kids of our own, one could say we are overly blessed, as we tend to take in all the kids at the track. And yes...each one holds a special place in our heart.
In February of 1994 KPR was established and since that time we have worked hard to make our business what it is today. We pride ourselves in being the best we can be and do all we can to make our customers feel a part of our family.
At the age of 34, Kenny decided it was time to quit racing and focus primarily on KPR. How fortunate can one be to continue doing what you love, even after quitting the one thing in life you are truly passionate about.
In 2016, Mary decided it was time to do what she loved full-time and join Kenny in the shop. The most common question is...how do you two work so well together? Perhaps it’s because we share the same passion and truly love what we do...working together is just an added bonus.
We are willing to do whatever it takes to get a customer on the track and always strive to do our very best to make our customers happy. After all, customer service is our number one priority! If there’s one word we want people to use when they think of us and our business, it would be HEART. Not just because we love the sport, but because we care.
